MINUTES OF SPORT COMMITTEE May18, 2006 - 6:00pm
CALL TO ORDER/APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES „Ï Mary Kay opened the meeting at 6:00pm in the Schmidt Room at Town Hall. „Ï Minutes of previous meeting approved with two changes and seconded.
I: ATTENDANCE Mary Devlin, Tammy Jamieson, Nathan Mosley, Eric Nicholds, Mary Kay Rachwalski, Stinky Steinbrink, Marty Richardson, John Taylor, Pat Taylor, Tom Dopplick, Don Hansen, Steve Swanson, Rick & Laura Karden
Absent: Dave Koop, Matt Livingston, Eric Nicholds Guests: Dan Pins
II: OLD BUSINESS 1. Art Donation Policy / WOW Committee (EDAC) ƒx Committee reviewed changes made to the Art Donation Policy and made additional changes and deletions to tailor it further to be specific to the Town. ƒx There was discussion on whether or not to include private land as well as public land. The committee decided on public land only. ƒx A legal instrument of conveyance of an adequate description needs to be created by Town Attorney Jerry Dahl. Next step: revise policy with additional changes / deletions and bring back to the Council for further review.
2. Angler Mountain Ranch - Update ƒx Sketch plan has been received and proceeding through review process. They did make the request for a sidewalk along Bald Eagle Rd. ƒx John Taylor believes it would be beneficial to take a tour to ensure important points are included and the trails are aligned properly. ƒx Beetle kill on the proposed property should be taken care of prior to any exchange. ƒx A tour should take place at least by this summer.
III. NEW BUSINESS 1. Property Tours ƒx Nathan asked what day / time would work best for tours. Tammy would like to stick with the July 6 date to tour the Grande and Brown properties. (5:00 p.m. @ Town Hall) She will walk the property at another time with anyone who cannot make that tour. ƒx June 15, August 17 & September 21 tours will be held on the same day as the regularly scheduled SPORT meetings at 3:00 p.m.
2. Annual Clean Up Day ¡V May 20 ƒx Tammy handed out flyer with information detailing Clean Up day. IV: PROJECT REPORT 1. Blue River Experience a. Property Negotiations Brown Property ƒx Closing on 1298 Blue River Parkway/Ruby Joint Venture (Sam Brown) property on May 30. Ran into some problems that postponed the closing date. ƒx Total of 14 acres with river access, open space. b. North Pond Park Construction ƒx Columbine Hills is moving forward on construction preparation hoping to begin on June 12 or 19. ƒx South Pond wetlands mitigation area maintenance needs to be reviewed. Mary will check on who is responsible, the Town or the HOA. ƒx Groundbreaking will be held June 8 @ 5:00 p.m. c. Wetlands & Land Survey BRVRLE ƒx Tammy will attend the BRVRLE HOA meeting on Saturday, May 20. ƒx June 2 at 9:00 a.m. Staff and consultants will stake the property. ƒx The survey should be done by the end of June, and then Range West will step in. It will take 6 ¡V 8 months to do the final design after that. The 404 permit will be obtained sometime in 2007.
2. Adopt-A-Trail ƒx The Rock Gym sign has been taken down. ƒx The signs on the trails need to be wiped off periodically. This should be assigned to the people who have adopted the portions. ƒx Don will pick up the sign and return to owner.
3. Other: V: OTHER & SEASONAL REPORTS 1. Ponds/Ice Rink -Think about having volunteers clear snow so that it doesn¡¦t sit for another year. -Think about equipment, etc. needed for mini-projects. It is time to do the next bi-annual budget for the Town and now is the time to ask. 2. Skate Park -Open and getting lots of use. 3. Rainbow Park Master Plan Review -Possibility of placing a mini disc golf course will be researched by Rick and Laura. The natural landscape being destroyed is a concern. 4. Nordic Center -Going to keep the old snowmobile. Researching options in anticipation of buying a new one.
5. Pocket Park -The second pedestrian bridge may impact the pocket park. The bridge is in the conceptual stage. Accessibility feasibility is being determined. Mary will update the committee on the progress. 6. Doggie Park 7. Cottonwood Park Fishing Signs 8. Sand Volleyball Courts 9. Other: No discussion on 2005 currents projects / status or 2006 goals.
