MINUTES OF SPORT COMMITTEE
August 17,2006 - 6:00pm

CALL TO ORDER/APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
„Ï Don Hansen opened the meeting at 6:02 pm in the Community Room at the Recreation Center
„Ï Minutes of previous meeting approved as written and seconded.

I: ATTENDANCE
Mary Devlin, Don Hansen, Tammy Jamieson, Nathan Mosley, Eric Nicholds, Stinky Steinbrink, John Taylor, Pat Taylor, Marty Richardson, Rick/Laura Karden, Tom Dopplick

Absent: Dave Koop, Mary Kay Rachwalski, Michael Johnson, Matt Livingston, Steve Swanson,

Guests: Danelle Ballengee & Kelly Klawiter

II: OLD BUSINESS
Swift Skeddadle:
Nathan commented the Town would like to organize the race but needs the support and commitment of the SPORT Committee. No date set as of yet but looking at mid January. Danelle will help with organization & the trail.
SPORT agreed to assist with organization and sponsorship solicitations.

Rainbow Park Sculpture:
Kelly Klawiter presented several sculptures to the committee for their review and pitched her ideas on funding. Kelly thought the sculpture would cost the Town around $5000, even though Kelly is willing to donate her services and time. Tammy asked the group if they wanted to pursue ¡V the group agreed and thought they should move forward on the project.

III. NEW BUSINESS
1. Property Tours.
ƒx Angler Mountain and South Maryland Creek
ƒx Next tour scheduled for September 21 cancelled due to Grand Opening of North Pond Park ¡V regular SPORT Committee meeting after Grand Opening at the North Pond

2. Life Styles Center
* Mary Devlin presented update on the Center ¡V the process is in sketch plan review. Must resubmit plans due to access and design issues.











IV: PROJECT REPORT
1. Blue River Experience
a. Waiting on CDLT to submit grant to GOCO
b. Property Negotiations
Boot Gordon refused offer on land, Town may purchase easement for path
c. North Pond Park
ƒx Grand Opening scheduled for September 21st
ƒx Signage was passed to the group
ƒx Few changes with the docks and Pavilion

2. Other:
* Lowry Campground ground breaking for new Rec Bike Path
* Angler Mountain Ranch ¡V call special meeting to review plans with applicant ¡V Suggested date August 29th
* Mary Devlin updated group on Pedestrian Bridge

* John suggested monitoring water quality in North and South Ponds
* Disk golf ¡V Rick and Laura stated that the 5 acres behind the Recreation Center was too small and dangerous, group suggested looking into Angler Mountain Ranch
