MINUTES OF SPORT COMMITTEE
April 21, 2005 - 6:00pm

CALL TO ORDER/APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
„Ï Marty opened the meeting at 6:00pm in the Schmidt Room at Town Hall.
„Ï Motion to approve minutes was made and seconded.

I: ATTENDANCE
Howard Hallman, Tammy Jamieson, Michael Johnson, Dave Koop, Mary Kay Rachwalski, Marty Richardson, Stinky Steinbrink, John Taylor, Pat Taylor, Andrew Yarosh

Absent: Tom Dopplick, Don Hansen
Guests: Eric Nicholds, Dan Pins

II: OLD BUSINESS
1. Maryland Creek Update
a. Number of parking spaces proposed was increased to 55.
b. Final plans due as soon as possible, will look at again at next meeting, and proposed to go to Planning Commission in June.

III. NEW BUSINESS
1. Boot Gordon ¡V New park proposal ¡V Boot was unable to make the meeting but sent a map with Tammy for the committee¡¦s consideration.
-a group decided to walk the area that Boot is suggesting April 25th at 4pm. Anyone interested should meet at ball field lot.

IV: PROJECT REPORT
1. Blue River Experience
-2 proposals were submitted and Valuation Consultants, Steamboat Springs, was chosen. They estimate 5 weeks to complete the project at $3250.00
-North Pond RFP¡¦s ¡V received 3 proposals; DHM/Oz Architects, Norris Dullea, and Neils Lunceford. Will update Council at next Tuesdays¡¦ work session and will recommend Neils Lunceford. Neils¡¦ expects 6-months to complete the work.
2. Adopt-A-Trail
-All 3 signed contracts have been received and the signs have been ordered.
3. Naming of Parks
-Corrections were made to the draft copy of proposed policy statement.
-Next step is to accept the proposed statement, run it by Kevin or the Attorney if necessary, then present it to Council. Tammy will follow up.
-Howard complemented Stinky, Tammy, and John for a job well done.
4. Other ¡V Volleyball Court Fencing
-Eric Nicholds is asking for fencing around the outdoor volleyball courts in order to control out of bounds balls. Preference is for fencing on the North and South ends only.
-Committee thought it was a great idea and will get with Public Works.

V: OTHER & SEASONAL REPORTS
1. Ponds/Ice Rink - Closed for season
2. Skate Park
-Joanne received new helmets for check out.
-Park is open and clear
-Committee asked if it was possible to top the dirt area next to the skate park while the upgrade is being done to the playing field.
3. Rainbow Park Master Plan Review - on hold
4. Nordic Center - Closed for season
5. Pocket Park
-Continue to work on getting the benches
6. Doggie Park
7. Wetlands at North Pond
8. Other
